Dogs are an integral part of many families and are ideally always nearby. If you don't want to miss your four-legged companion on your vacation in South Tyrol, you are at the right place in our dog-friendly hotel in Italy.
After prior notification, your dog is warmly welcomed with us. Our house dog Yuki also lives here, demonstrating in his calm manner how relaxed a stay in our dog hotel can be.
We are very much looking forward to meeting you and your dog on a pet-friendly holiday.
For the additional cleaning effort we charge:
- Suite / Apartment: € 25,- per night
- Main building: € 20,- per night

Quiet paths, water under the paws and a shared walk
Our dog-friendly hotel in Italy is quietly located in Algund, a bit above Merano, where paths quickly lead into nature. Not far from the hotel, you will find relaxing paths and refreshing streams for walks and hiking tours with your four-legged friend.
Already upon arrival, something personal awaits you: our "dog letter". In it, you will find a selected collection of our favorite rounds in Algund and surroundings - trails that we ourselves walk with our dog Yuki.
Heinrichshof's dog service: If the paws are tired after a long hike in the Merano area, there are fresh dog towels available upon request for a clean room.
Important rules that make living together easier
To ensure all guests feel comfortable, we value respectful interaction. We kindly ask you to consider the following during your stay with your furry friend:
- Leash requirement: Please keep your dog on a leash throughout the hotel area.
- "Dog in Room" sign: If your darling needs to stay alone for a short time, the sign on the room door helps us. Thus, we're informed and can avoid surprises for our team.
- Together in the hotel: Your dog may accompany you on the lawn. Outside of meal times, he is warmly welcomed on the terrace and at the bar at any time.
- Dog-free areas: Out of consideration for all guests, the dining room and the indoor pool are not accessible to dogs.
Travel information for South Tyrol (Italy)
For relaxed entry, please remember:
1. A valid EU pet passport.
2. Clear identification (microchip or tattoo).
3. A valid rabies vaccination (min. 21 days, max. 1 year old).
4. Muzzle & leash: Leashes are required in Italy. In public transportation (bus, train, cable cars), a muzzle is mandatory. Please also remember to buy a separate ticket for larger dogs.
